CardRescue is photo-recovery software. It recovers deleted pictures from memory sticks, SD cards, Compact-Flash cards, xD Picture 
cards, and various flash-memory cards used by digital cameras. It also recovers lost photos from reformatted or damaged memory cards.
Most digital cameras do not completely wipe digital pictures from the storage card when the user deletes images or uses the “Format” operation, so it is possible for CardRescue software to rescue the lost photos from the storage card. For corrupted memory cards or memory-card error, CardRescue will try to access the memory card in low level (raw mode) and bypass the original file system, so in many cases, it is able to recover the lost photos.
