Default Folder X attaches a toolbar to the right side of the Open and Save dialogs in any OS X-native application. The toolbar gives you fast access to various folders and commands. You just click on the buttons to go to your favorite and recently used folders, manage the folders and files shown in the list, and make changes to your settings. It also fixes a number of problems in Open and Save dialogs, “rebounding” to the last selected file, putting the path listing back in the top menu, and correcting bugs in scrolling column views.

WHAT’S NEW

Version 6.1.6:

  • Default Folder X now includes a Focus Filter that automatically switches to a specific folder set when you enter a macOS Focus mode. To use the Focus Filter, go to System Settings > Focus, click on the Focus that you want to trigger a particular folder set, then click Add Filter and select the Default Folder X filter.   • Switching between folders in Open and Save dialogs is faster.
  • Corrected problems when assigning keyboard shortcuts containing the Shift key.
  • Fixed a bug that could make Finder-click show the wrong name for a Finder window.
  • Resolved issues with keyboard focus getting confused in Save dialogs when using the Comment and Tags fields.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in strange “File not found” errors when using the New Folder command on iCloud Drive.
